Day 4: Thankful for Baby Showers

I love parties.
There. I said it.  I really do.  I love decorating for them and getting fun ideas.  So when I co-hosted a baby shower last night, I had so much fun getting ideas from Pinterest and other blogs.  I loved the "Sprinkled with Love" theme and here's how it turned out!

I used my eCraft machine to cut out a bunch of circles then used my sewing machine to sew them together to make "sprinkles".  I love the end result!  I used blue, pink, and white paper since it was a combined shower for 2 friends, each having a boy and a girl.

Look how adorable that sign is!  I love the Jen Allyson Designs SD card from eCraft.

And yes, the food was really good.  I'm munching on a pretzel stick right now!

We did some fun games, like guessing what candy bar was in the "poopy diaper" and made collages from pictures in magazines to guess what their babies would look like.

Then each guest got a party favor.  Loved this idea and couldn't pass it up.  So I grabbed S&P shakers from the Dollar Tree.  I also used a tag cut out from Fundamentals SD card from eCraft to make the labels.  So cute!

We also did the traditional toilet paper measuring game :)

Here are the two lucky ladies with their babies, both #2, mind you!  Leah & Jacqui, so excited for you!

Leah is due in March and Jacqui is due in like 10 days!

Thanks ladies for letting me throw you a shower!  It's so fun to get together with friends, enjoy each other's company and just laugh really big!

Day 3: Thankful for little helpers

What. A. Week.  Tonight, I helped host a baby shower, which meant planning decorations and food.
Theme for the shower was "Sprinkled with Love".  So after looking for ideas on Pinterest, I got to work.
I usually just suck it up and do everything myself.  I have control issues and things have to be a "certain" way, right?
Well, I realized today that I need to break that because I just had way too many things on my "to-do" list.  And seeing how my girls were eager to help, I couldn't resist.

Emma & Kate were dipping & sprinkling masters.  Emma was very focused on the job.  I think she's a little like me.  She likes to create and make it look good.
So we made chocolate-dipped fortune cookies & pretzel rods then sprinkled :)
All you need are some chocolate melts, fortune cookies (or anything you want  dipped) and sprinkles, along with a cookie sheet & parchment paper.

I just use the microwave and melt the chocolate.  Then I dip the cookie in and shake off excess.

Next comes the sprinkles!

Lay them on the sheet and fill it up.  Then place them in the fridge to speed up the cooling process.

MMMMmmmm these are so good.

My girls saved me so much time.  They are so wonderful.

Day 2: Thankful for Fall

I never realized how much I love Fall until this year.  The past 7 years, we have been TX or Vegas....sage brush & cactus's don't change color...so to be in the mist of it all, it. is. beautiful.
I can't get enough of the colors!

I grew up in UT so I had Fall growing up but I don't think I appreciated it as much as I do now.  I grew up near AF canyon and I would love to drive up there and look at the changed leaves.  But I guess not being around it all the time, it didn't grow on me...

I don't know...but alls i know is that I LOVE it and will miss it once the first snow falls...which will be really soon!

See you next year Fall.

Day 1: Thankful for Preschool

So I want to participate posting something everyday that I am thankful for in the month of November.
To start, I want to write and give a Thanks to Kate and her preschool class.
Kate's preschool class has 5 kids that are all beautiful, happy, fun, silly and curious.  Every Tuesday and Thursday, we meet at each other's home and teach them different themes each week.
This particular week, the theme was apples.  So we went to the Smith's Apple Orchard.

who knows if they even listened to how Apples were gathered and picked...

But that's okay.

I think they'll remember the fun they had running around the orchard, playing tag with one another.

Picking apples straight off the tree and tasting how good they are .

I'm thankful to be part of this wonderful group of mom's and our kids.  They are wonderful together and love learning together.

Thank you guys!
Join me every day this month to see what I am Thankful for :)

Halloween 2011

This year was fun because all the kids were old enough to know what was going on and participate.

isn't this picture cool?!  I thought the light in the tree looked eerie.

Here are the kids before we headed out.
Luke is a homeless man...
Kate was Ariel
Emma was "Snow White getting married"... lol where does she come up with these things?

I even went as far as drew a beard and mustache on his face.  Love it.

Luke got the concept pretty quick and was saying twick teeeet! pretty fast.  But he didn't like putting the candy in his pillowcase.  He wanted to hold it in his hand the whole time.  If Joe or I took it from his hands to put into his pillowcase, he would have a meltdown...he had one at a doorstep and flopped inside the person's home.  it was awesome....

We hit a major neighborhood by our home and then went to a friends Halloween party, where we hung out, trick or treated some more and play Just Dance.  It was a fun night!

However, today is a different story as we are recuperating....everyone needs a nap!
