Dance Date

Well I also wanted to let everyone know that Joe and I still have a dating life...after 16 months :) We had a fun night on the town...actually at the church. There was an Adult stake dance and a few days before, I decided that we are going on a date! Michelle Cox and I did a swap for babysitting over the weekend so she came and hung out while Emma slept. But is was so fun!! I don't know how Joe felt about it. I did have to drag him on the dance floor majority of the time but that's ok..it just take a little practice. But ya we had a blast and saw old and new friends...Shout out to Melissa Snyder Wood and her husband!! I felt like I was back in junior high again (also meaning the music played was basically the same as when we were in 7th grade :)) But it was a well deserved night and just glad we did it!
PS- Melissa, i'm still up for the dance party so count me in!
PSS- The picture was taken by Michelle Cox...and I felt like I was going to a high school dance...hee hee

New Couches!

We actually got them a few weeks ago but it is only now that I'm getting them posted since i've just had other things to do. We love them and glad we don't have to sit on the flat cuddlebag anymore. The apartment is getting more and more "livable" so things are a bit more easier. I have developed the worse case of allergies though. I've never had them before in my life but just last week, my eyes were on fire!! Not to mention the constant nose drips and sneezing. Come to find out, it is Mountain Cedar, which is very unpredictable. So i'll be purchasing some Claritin and hopefully it'll subside. But things are just back to normal now and we're just getting through this semester!

Rain Fall

The past couple of days have been a little gloomy in SA. It's been colder than usual and raining a whole lot. Both Emma and I are getting over colds so I try to keep her in as much as I can but that can become difficult with a 16 month old. So luckily we have a porch with a view that she can play on whenever she needs some fresh air. And it had been ages since taking pictures of just her so I took the opportunity to get some done. The lighting was perfect too so we got some good ones. She loves to go outside and explore so the porch is perfect to have some control of where she can and can't go.

Still a winner to me ;)

So we have some unfortunate news to tell. Emma was not chosen as the winner for the Gerber Organic Food Contest. I finally found out when I checked gerber.com and saw that they had finally posted the winners. Yet Emma is on the website! So that's kind of exciting. here's the link if you want to check it out:

So ya, Emma did take the news pretty hard. She shed a few tears but I think she's getting over it. But other than that, we've had a great Christmas break! We went and visited with Joe's family over in Port Neches, TX and it was a very nice trip. Emma is at an excellent stage right now. She had so much fun with her Uncles! They gave her all the attention she needed so that gave Joe and I a great break. Joe's parents even got Emma up in the mornings!! Talk about a vacation! So we had a good time and then we got back home to our Sty...pig sty I should say. I am luckily feeling better so i've been able to pitch in on things to do. So we're slowly sorting things out and getting things unpacked. Joe starts school again tomorrow and I don't know if i'm ready for that again. I got used to him being here! So it'll be an interested shift. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Talk to ya'll later!

We're here!

Well I guess technically we're in our new place but it sure doesn't look like it. It is thrashed! I hate unpacking and getting everything into its proper place. It doesn't help that I have no energy either... poor Joe, he's been bustin' his rear-end getting everything essential out and set up. I can honestly say that if I didn't feel like poop all the time, i'd be right up there helping him cause I hate when I live in a pig sty. But we do love the space and we haven't had real problems with neighbors yet. So we're liking it. I'd send pics but not just yet :) And anyone wanting to get a hold of us or send us stuff, email me and I will give you our new info. I was posting it before but feel better this way incase some weirdos look on this and stalk us or something.
And we can't call long distance calls just yet so anyone living far away needs to call us if you want to talk to us :) I just can't wait till this is all resolved!!
K bye!

Stress

Ok I just need to vent a bit. My mind is full of stress. And it doesn't help when my apartment is a disaster! I hate moving!! Argh! It seriously looks like a tornado came through here. But I just don't know what to do about it. Majority of my stuff is packed away but there is always that other part of stuff that lingers behind, just laying around, waiting to be packed. The problem is that I can't pack it until last minute. Like, for example, Emma's toys. They invade the whole apartment everyday. At night, I have to go around and collect them, put them nicely into their place. Next morning, BOOM! Emma has hit again and the toys wander. It is starting to get annoying tripping on those things all day. I think i'll probably pack the majority of them anyways so they get out of the way. It seems that Emma only plays with a special few anyways. So I just want this place to look like we're moving, not just out of control messy! Come Saturday, we'll be moving all our stuff but for now, it's a waiting game. And another good thing is Joe is done finals tomorrow afternoon so he can finally help pack and take care of all his piles of papers that he has scattered through out the house. It'll be nice once we're in the other apartment and done the whole moving process. And did I mention i'm trying to do this all while feeling like I want to puke all day? yes, Morning sickness is a brick in progress. Luckily it's not as bad as with Emma but still, it can be draining. Anyone out there, think of me, think of me fondly....(I had to quote Phantom) and say a little prayer for me :)

And as always, Emma loves Peekaboo, even covered in cheesy potatoes!!

It's Poop Again!!

Well, today i'm officially 23 years old. I'm getting too old. But I had an interesting day. Right now, we're in the brink of chaos in our house from getting ready to move in a week. Solely, i'm packing our whole apartment since Joe is in finals this week. So the majority of my day was packing...so it wasn't the jolliest birthday in my history. But i'm not pity-partying! There was a Ward Christmas party tonight so I didn't have to make dinner or anything, so that was a benefit. But this is where the nights becomes comedic. We had to stop at the store on the way home for milk and other items. We parked next to a large tree, which had a large amount of black birds. We had to cross under the tree to get to the store. So as we start walking, I see this thing fall infront of my face. I continue walking and realize that my right foot is all wet, even inbetween my toes. I look down and see white and brown goop on my black shoes and on my foot. A stupid bird had pooped on my foot. It was so runny that is oozed into my toes! I was laughing, feeling like I was in some funny movie. But the laughs don't end there. 40 minutes later as we head back to our car, I was holding Emma and minding my own business when all of the sudden...yes I got whacked in the head again by the birds...Did I have some sort of target on my head? It scared me more than anything so I kind of jumped and screamed. Joe turns around, sees me and starts laughing. It's poop again! I just couldn't believe that it happened twice. Then to top it off, Joe says: "Happy Birthday Lyssa!" Ya it was just too weird, but it was pretty funny.
