Thankful Thursdays Linky Party

It's been a week already!! Here's a new week for the Thankful Thursdays Linky Party

Rules are you can link up ANYTHING you are thankful for.
Whether it's a project you finished up, a recipe you made or your wonderful family...
I want it all!
One rule is to add the button to your post so others can join in too!

I appreciate everyone who has been playing along too!
These things are always hard to get rolling but I think it fun.
And it reminds me on a weekly basis of what I have been given.
And I have been given so much.
I am so very blessed and so very thankful!

Today, & this week, I am thankful that the time is now at hand! We pack up our trunk in 2 days and move to our new home! I am very excited for it to be here finally. My house is a chaotic mess right now but we are almost done packing everything and then we'll start cleaning...actually I should say that I am grateful for my husband who is cleaning the shower door right now! What a trooper!

I am also thankful for friends that I have met during this short time here here in the Tri-Cities. What a wonderful group of ladies! I will miss them! But luckily I will be only 2 hours away!

So this week, what are you thankful for?
Show me!

Link up anything that you want that shows graditude, whether it's a recipe that was awesome or you painted some furniture or you made a scrapbook page...anything!

I would love to see it.

I spray painted that one in Turquoise.  I love how it turned out!

best. day. ever.

this was quite the momentous occasion for me.
my birthday.
yes, it's true.  I have them every year, but this year was different.
because joe sat down with me and asked me what I wanted to do ALL day.
so i laid it out and it went according to plan, without a hitch.
dec.9th 2010.
seriously a perfect day.
so this is me, now 27.
i want to know what I looked like on such a wonderful day, when life was really good and when we have been given so so so much.
sorry if it seems like i'm gloating.  i'm not.
i'm just so grateful for life, family, my husband, my kids.
i'm experiencing a natural high in my life. (trust me, i've had my share of lows)
after sleeping in, we all got ready and headed to the donut shop.
one of the best things about birthday and kids is that they make it much more fun!
they were so excited for donuts!

luke's inital taste...still trying to figure that one out.
 he's past it ;)

happy birthday and merry christmas to me :)
next was matinee with my girls!
we watched Tangled...my new FAV.  I loved that movie.
I want to watch it right now.
My handsome boy greeted me like this when we got home.

After the movie, I was able to leave for a couple of hours and do whatever I wanted to do.
I went to the antique store and the mall.
I carefully planned that one...it was so nice and worth it.  I found some awesome stuff!
Dick & Jane calender- $1
Dick & Jane hard cover book - $1
Roll of fabric - $4.80
Raggedy Andy - $4
Vintage Phone( like the one in TS3) $6
Christmas ABC book - $1
Wahoo! ( i'm decorating Luke's room with vintage toys)

When i got home, we had a pizza party!

Then the cake part...don't you love it?  I do!

After we got the kids to bed, I hosted a demo night!  I showed some ladies how to cut up a pallet and turn it into a shelf, courtesy of ana-white.com

Here's a couple I made, cute huh?

seriously so grateful for Joe in helping me make this day wonderful for me.
here's hoping 27 will be a great one!

Thankful Thursdays Linky Party #3

Today, I am thankful for my...birthday!
It's my birthday today, cool huh?!

I am a big fat 27 year old now. This is the first time that an age has made me feel old.
I definitely don't feel 27. I still feel like I just graduated high school!

Does anyone else feel that way too?!

So I am thankful that, with each year, I learn new things.
My life is not perfect.  I face problems.
And from these problems, I learn.
I keep growing through trials.

Through time and experience, I gain knowledge that I would have otherwise not have!
I hope I can continue to do this, each year, grow older and WISER, right?

So this week, what are you thankful for?
Show me!

12.6.10

today seemed like a saturday really.
joe is sick so he played hookie from work.
Emma actually did go to preschool so that was the only thing that usually doesn't happen on saturdays.
I ran to the thrift store to grab a trunk and rug that I should have snatched on saturday but wasn't sure if we had the means.  But we did and I was worried that someone would have grabbed them!
joe scoffed at me when I expressed my worry.
"you think someone else is going to take an old trunk?"
"um...yes!  those who know true beauty will take it!"

Anyways, it was pointless since it was still waiting for me at the store.

The weekend was low-key due to sicknesses from everyone.  Last week, I had one day of a sore throat but it's gone.  Joe has laringitis and the flu.  Kate has the pukes and Luke has a bad cough.  So it's just me and Emma fending for ourselves!
We've watched a lot of christmas movies.
Emma is loving Home Alone.
I am loving Home Alone.
I didn't realize John Hughes directed it.  I love his movies.
So today was more movies, playing, going to the grocery store, with Kate puking on the grocery store floor and her shirt.
Luckily it was just me and her.
I had to get the meat guy to come help.  He was really nice and wiped it up with paper towels.  I wiped Kate off then he took my pukey towels.  Then he offered her some water.
If you could have seen her face when he said that....
Kate LOVES water.
So after that episode, she felt better but fell asleep on the way home.
if you are wondering why I took her to the store when she was sick....well she had thrown up Saturday night and then once yesterday.  So today, she seemed fine...until the store.
At home, she lounged about, Emma danced around and Luke ran amuck everywhere else.

OHH and Emma got a SQUINKIE from class.  She is obsessed....and i'm fearing for my life that these will take over my home...

And here I am, eating my BLT, as a silent home overtakes me....and can i brag that it's only 7:20 pm?
silence people...silence.

thrift store finds.

A few days ago, I went to the St. Vincent Store to look for some boots for my 2nd little child.
Although my attempts in finding boots were amiss, I did discover some wonderful items!

First this rug!  Look how cute!  I instantly fell in love with the colors.  It was only $19.  Not bad for a 4x6 rug, which will be perfect in our new living room that'll we will be living in in just 2 short weeks!
Next is this bad boy.  This wonderful trunk!
I have been looking for a large LARGE trunk to store blankets or whatever in it for the living room.
I am not liking throwing my blankets in a big purple bin people!
And I've spied this baby for months now...just sitting pretty waiting...waiting...waiting...
for me to snatch it!
It was only $49.  Which seriously, if you look at prices for trunks these days, like huge trunks like this with character, they are well over $100 or $200.
So to find this for this price, I was uber excited.
This too will look fabulous in my living room, maybe front and center or in the corner :)
Anyone else love finding deals as much as me?
Oh and i hit a local gently used children's store called Children's Attic today.  They were having a 50% off clothes sale and 20% off everything else off!  I mean, their prices are low to begin with.  So I got boots, 4 pairs of pajamas, 2 shirts, and a sweater for $28.
That's awesome.
